Moab

As I sit here in Lithuania in the middle of winter, designing this webpage, I can feel the warmth of Moab. I long to be covered in Moab dust, when dirty never felt so clean. I crave the exhileration that only utter fatigue can bring. And no matter how bad it is, I need that sun on my skin that never felt so good.*

This is life in Moab.

On the road again:

Since Betsey had a crushed roof and wasn't ready to carry bikes, Jason loaned Stan to Malin, Anders and I so we could take off on a fun-filled weekend of mountain biking in Moab, Utah.

Taking pictures out of the sunroof driving up Clear Creek Canyon.

Waking up 20 miles outside of Moab. After a 6 hour drive, Anders fell asleep with the Seagram's.

Whenever I bring new people to Moab, I plan for us to arrive at night, so that they can fully take in the breathtaking surprise that awaits them at dawn.

Me and Malin on our drive in to Moab ready to bike Slickrock Trail.

Slickrock looking east toward the San Juan's in Colorado.

Girl power! No trail can get me down!

Climbing up to the first view point.

She-Girls and Anders! That green below is the town of Moab. We're a (couple) thousand feet above riding Slickrock Trail, some 12+ miles of petrified sand dune.

It's a lot steeper than it looks!

It really dosen't get much better than this.

The colors in these photos can never equal real-life.

Malin and Anders on a much needed water break. Even in April temperatures were approaching 90 F in the sun.

Go girls!

Riding off towards the mountains. Boy did that feel good!

We can barely move here, we're just barely getting those sandy bananas into our mouths, and it's so hot the shade under this tree feels like the Holy Grail. But we wouldn't trade this moment for anything.

We only had two days in Moab so after a dip in the Colorado River to cool down, we dragged our tired sunburned selves up to Arches National Park to check out some really big rocks. Click here to learn more!

Really red dirt.

Let's just guess the name of this rock.

We didn't have time to go all the way there, but all those rocks are called Devil's Kitchen.

We did to the 1km climb to the Delicate Arch view point. That's it behind us to the left.

Back in town... the classic car show was happening the weekend we were there.

We camped that night across the street from the Slickrock trailhead. Anders slept in the tent, Malin and I slept on the tarp out under the stars. It's amazing how that desert air will clear up your skin! I needed a good breakfast to prepare for the long day ahead!

Malin, Anders and I up on top of Porcupine Rim.

We got a little lost and detoured up to this road. Didn't matter anyway 'cause we didn't have time to ride the whole trail.

Anders crusing back down Porcupine Rim.

Jammin' in the car on the way home!
