On the road again, just can't wait.. to.... get....
on..... the road.......
I had a great drive from New Jersey to Michigan. I did it in 10
hours flat, despite the fact that I drove right passed my exit in
Toledo, OH without seeing it AT ALL because I was talking on the
cell phone to my brother.
I thought, "it's taking an awful long time to get to Toledo!"
Then I noticed the numbers on the road signs shrinking and shortly
after arrived at a toll booth and asked, "Where am I?"
Well, I was leaving Ohio. No big deal, I just detoured quickly through
Indiana and took 69 up.
So I repacked in Michigan, got Betsey an oil change, and by friday
afternoon was back in the car with my Dad heading west. Unfortunately,
we were just south of Chicago when Betsey's clutch totally ceased
up to the point of no longer working at all.
Yea.
So instead of having dinner at the Cracker Barrel with my brother,
Joe got Wendy's and came and found us on the highway to wait with
us for the tow truck. We had Betsey towed to a nearby lot, and went
back to Joe's hotel where we spent the night, and then rented a
car the next morning to continue on. I will be driving it to LA.
So.... On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again!
I have now visited my brother in Ft Collins, Camilla and Greg in
Denver and am laying on the grass in Steamboat waiting for Linas
to get home!
Tomorrow I will continue on to Grand Junction to visit my aunt and
uncle for lunch, and then on to LA. I will arrive hopefully just
after lunch on Thursday!
