| Le Top du Top
10 August 2002
Hi there all!
Well, this will be my last email from camp! The kids left this morning
and now we're cleaning and organizing and packing. We have two hills
of cabins, La France et La Francophonie. We're closing La France
for the winter this weekend.
Yesterday was La Journee Internationale.... Allez, allez, allez,
allez, journée.... internationale!
Yes it was and it was great. All the work I put into making these
giant pannaux to illustrate our interpretations of Union and Peace
worked really well and I received a lot of compliments on them.
It was a lot of fun, I got to hang out with some pretty cute Norwegians
(hi Thomas and Åsmund!) and also spent the majority of time
walking around with some of my girls. It was really a great time!
This email is called Le Top du Top because after the last bus leaves,
we had a staff meeting and share our "Top du Top" stories
and memories of camp. Mine was of my cabins, and how great they
were. Also, I have to remember the canoe trip I took with my cabin,
and the midnight canoe trip the monos took. Seeing the Aurora Borealis,
and the rainy mornings when we got to sleep in, hanging out with
Anais until 3am in Beaux-Arts painting pannaux for I-Day and the
few times I got to swim in the lake. Of course, the best was getting
the news that my Goddaughter
was born healthy and happy! And I got to talk to Katka in the hospital
on Wednesday. My girls were really excited too, and they made a
card for Kristina, so Katka I will be sending that soon!
It's been a fast 4 weeks, I can't believe it's already passed by!
On one hand it seems we arrived last weekend, and on the other,
it seems I've been here forever and I mean the forever in a good
way. Camp felt more like home this year, probably because it wasn't
so new and confusing.
So it was a good experience all in all. Tonight we're going out
to the classic Woman Lake Inn to drink and sing karaoke. Let loose
a little.
Take care and thanks for listening (reading)!!!
